London is famous.
I'm not exactly sure all of the reasons why it's famous, however I do know that for hundreds upon hundreds of years, London has been an iconic city around the world.
I'm going to be in London for 4 days this week and while I should be excited about all of the rich history, museums and Big Ben, I'm mostly excited about the food. Therefore, my agenda revolves around eating. I don't have all of the details worked out yet, however I'm planning on trying to do at least these three things:
- Enjoy afternoon Tea Time
- Taste authentic Fish and Chips
- Check out one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants
So yes, I'm going to London and all I plan on doing is eating. Is there anything wrong with that?
In addition to what I have planned, do you have any suggestions of restaurants I need to check out?

Dan,
First off, I'm extremely jealous. I haven't been to London since I had a family bat mitzvah senior year of college and I miss it and my family. That being said, don't hype up the food. England is not known for its food. Most of it is bland. Fish and chips, yes (get from a street vendor, they are so much better that way) and afternoon tea are staples, but most of England isn't famous for its food.
HOWEVER, i have a thing for the British candy. If you get a chance (and you're a chocolate bar fan), try a Cadbury's dairy milk. Its different than American candy, the milk used is different. I have it and melt every time.
Other than than, don't hype up the British food.
I went to a great restaurant in the theatre district but that was like 8 years ago and can't remember the name.
Enjoy the flight!
